Today it has been nineteen weeks, my weight loss is 66 pounds. I was asked recently what motivated me to do this. After thinkng about it for a bit, I decided I wasn't all that motivated. This journey to health was begun because I saw an infomercial at the right time. Wow! The power of advertising! I was in the right place at the right time, had given up any notions to embark upon a weight loss plan, but when it was staring me in the face, and it seemed healthy and sensible, and it came with a money back guarantee, my choice was obvious.
Once I began to drink 100 ounces of water daily, cut out all processed foods and eat six meals a day it was the fast results that kept me motivated. Over 11 pounds the first week certainly would motivate anyone. The second week another 6 pouds off...As the amount of weight slowed down, other things began to motivate me. Being able to fit into any seat or booth in a restaurant, not being squished into the seat at the movies... The fact the when I flew over the holidays I didn't need an extension of the seatbelt..and now. I can buy my clothes in the "regular" part of the store I find clothes based on what style I like, not what will fit.
My cholesteral has really dropped. A year ago I was on medication, my cholesteral was 385...Six weeks ago without medication it was 238 and now with the increase of exercise last week it was an unbelievable 120..( I am going to have that repeated in a few weeks because that sounds unreal to me)
Also the future motivates me.... I am going away next February for my 25th anniversary and I want to weigh less than I did when I got married...My son is graduating from college in May... Summer is coming and I want to water ski...I think I could go on and on, but best of all?
The fact that I like ME...keeps me motivated.
