This is the affirmation that I need to keep repeating to myself lately. This balancing act of staying on plan mixed with a "free day"....takes focus and control. I know most of my journals lately have discussed this, but that is because that is where I am at. I am learning to indulge in a controlled fashion, and for someone who has never learned this skill it is all consuming.
I did figure out that exercise is what is keeping me on track. Even on a "free day" I exercise. There are benefits of toning so my skin is not loose,and also exercising with weights, bands and machines increases muscle mass which burns more calories.
The cardio allows for me to burn fat as well. These days I am still into jogging. I jog for an hour about 6 times a week.
If you haven't gotten into an exercise routine, you really should. The more I read about exercise and maintaining weight loss, the more I realize that those who are successful and maintain do indeed exercise.. Go try it...you might even like it!
